Default Painting the Firewall

I have the tub off my CJ right now:
http://www.tanglewoodcarvings.com/jeeprebuild.html

Rebuilding it. It is jusy the bare fiberglass, if I painted it a certain color would it help deflect heat?? Is it worth doing, I don't know much about that shit.

Thanx,
TJ

If it catches on fire, chances are the fire would melt any paint off anyway

Well I know that oakland county plow trucks painted there hoods flat black to deflect heat if it would work in that space I am not sure. But it would be worth a try???

Just don't paint it red, yellow or orange. They already look hot so it probably will get hotter.:tonka:
I think people paint it black to hide all the oil that's blowing on it.

did they paint them black to deflect the heat or did they paint them black so that the sun would keep them warmer, making them easier to start?
