I'm not saying theres anything wrong with how you are building. I'm just saying your priorities aren't saving money.

Your build costs are exactly what I'd expect for building a YJ from ground up with your options..

well, a little high, but you haven't exactly been doing this a long time, so I'd not expect you to know the areas where you overspent..

Man theres so much little crap to itemize it all but here is some, and a general guess at what it's costing:

Motor f/ carb to pan (everything in it is brand new) $~2000
Clutch setup including all hydro stuff $250
Trans/T-case (sm465 and NP205) Priceless, no really, i got it for free
Brand new MSD 6AL box $50 (good deal eh?)
Summit Racing order consisting of air cleaner, MSD Blaster coil, Mod. HEI cap, wires and other misc. stuff $250
Misc hardware ~$300
Special Fuel regulator $70
Axles ~$700

So thats around $3620, and im not done yet, but it should be running by this weekend, so at least i will have the engine done, just waiting on axles and a driveshaft.

The Ram is probably closing on $60, including the original vehicle cost. It will probably exceed taht when the bumber and winch are added. It hasn't broken yet, though. :tonka:

I'm sure all the CJ's are under $10k total.

Im gonna say that Skooters rig is prolly one of the nicest set up TJ's I have seen. It has a LOT of fricken goodies in it, oh and a lot of garbage in the inside too.

Personally here's where I'm at:
86 CJ7 $FREE (Traded for a big ass welder that i got on trade for some other shit that i had)
36's $350
Locker $200
Motors (3 of them) $200
(many a repaired) U-joints and axle joints probably $200
Paint job $7
Hillbilly SOA $32
Shocks $Free

haha, ok a get a lot of shit for cheap or free.. hahaha

$989

that does not include the probably 200ish that I've put in extra parts into it...

I have a break down of my other CJ that is now nothing but a broken frame and a pile of parts, but thats to disturbing to re-live

My Rubicon costed me $0.50 for the inkpen to sign the deal. Hell I don't know, I sell a lot of the stuff I remove to cover some of the cost of the new stuff.
