Harley F150 question

I have been looking for a Harley Davidson edition for a bit, my parents found one for me near home. Only trouble is my dad INSISTS it is 4x4, and has a 4.6L V6, non supercharged. It is an 1999. I don't believe a 4.6L V6 exists, and I can't believe that they didn't make any non supercharged Harley Davidson F150s. I can believe the 4x4 part.

Can someone set me straight on a few details? Has Ford ever made a non V8, non supercharged HD F150, and a 1999 model year? Thanks!

Ford never made a 4.6 V6....the 4.2 is the V6 they put in f150's....and I dont' think they came in the HD editions, but I could be wrong

Thats what I thought. I don't want a V6 pickup, much less one that SHOULD have a V8. Guess I will have to go scope it out.

when they first came out the only difference from a four door f150 was the harley logos the orange on the interior, rims and captain chairs in rear

correct me if i'm wrong but the harley davidson f150 came out in 2000. it came exte cab only with a naturally aspirated 5.4 v-8. that is until 2002 when the supercharger was added, along with the 4r100 trans, 3.73 gears and the crew cab body style. btw the sc hd f150's were rated at 340 hp

4.6 v6 is non-existent. It'd be a 4.6 V8, if that motor was the one available and not the 5.4. I think your dad has been drinking.

I have a 4.6l v-8. There was a v-6 F150 in the 1997-2003 body, but I dont remember what displacement it was. The Harley has never been anything but a V-8 though. The Supercharger for 02 and 03 I think was a Roush add-on option.

Ok, ok ok lets get all the facts straight lol.

All of the following engines are used in the Ford truck line since 1997 excluding the super duties which carried the 351w over one more year.

4.2 = V6 . This engine is a stroked 3.8L with cross ram air intake runners

4.6 = V8 . This engine is a slug, but does do a decent job

5.4 = V8 . This is the ONLY engine used on the Harley Davidson edition. Super chargers were added later. All came with 20" x 9" wheels. Early ones are black with orange stripping and badging.

I used to work at the plant that produced these. If my memory serves me correct, Silver Bullet and Never Evil are right on the money.

Did I mention I have the entire Ford archives at my disposal. I can tell you the material used on the seats of the original cougar if I wanted to.

Seriously, there's alot of oddities out there that are undocumented to a large degree. My 1998 F150 for instance is one of a select few in a short run between design changes that has the oil filter remotely mounted behind the left headlight because of something on the 4.6l v-8 changed.

Diesel? Maybe it was mounted there because they were spinning off pulleys on the "Rolls Test" (end of the line).

Hey lothos, my oil filter on my Expedition is under the driver headlight on the frame rail. Its on a 5.4 engine.

btw could you get me the specs on a fox body chassis mustang axle mounting points and the specs on a mn-12 thunderbird IRS mounting points and see how close they are to a bolt in swap? A friend wants to make an IRS foxbody.

thanks

BTW to the original post, only buy the Harley edition if you have deep pockets for the insurance on it and keeping it clean.
