I find it fascinating that Algore can (despite any credentials or applicable education or training) blather on about global warming while making an extremely tidy sum (i.e. millions of $) off of a business that is essentially a marketplace for "carbon offsets", that allow guilt-ridden folks to offset their lifestyle (like Al himself does btw) by purchasing these carbon offset credits.

We used to call these folks "snake oil salesmen" in that the generated or exaggerated concern over some relatively benign situation they they coincidentally had the solution for, at a cost of course.

If a conservative were to do such a thing (i.e. profit from global warming hoopla after helping whip up said hoopla) they'd be run out of town on a rail. Ol' Al gets a pass and millions in free marketing and advertising...

That is the part that truly sucks. You should have the option, or they should say it is has a political and opinion spin. If Gore really cared about global warming, this movie would have been 100% bi-partisian, and scientific proof for 100% of everything in it.

The same type thing happened here in Lansing recently. Jesse Jackson was in town to instill his racial hatred in yet another high school of impressionable minds. If my kid were subjected to his racial bullshit, I would have uncorked on someone. Fortunately, our kid goes to Dansville schools. Not much support for ol' JJ out there. It isn't too far from Howell. I can see a run on bedsheets at the local Meijer if he tried that crap. :tonka:

wait till you have your kids 10'th grade teacher comment to you that your kid is "pretty smart for a conservative"! my dad had that happen with me, and i heard some stories from my friends parents who were there to witness his wrath!

side note, this was in Okemos, so he should have expected something stupid like this to happen

Off to school I went.

I walk into the office and up to the counter. The ladies are kind of in the back of the office and shout across to me "may we help you".
There are maybe three or four other parents standing at the counter and I said, yes, can you tell me who I may speak to reguarding science curriculum.

She asks, "in what reguard". I said, the propaganda film on global warming that was shown for two days.
She asked me to hold on and went around the corner, returning with a counselor.
The counselor asks me to her office and I begin to tell her, in a very nice way, what I think of the film and the teachers teaching methods and personal opinions.
Well guess what... I'm not the only one to bring this up in the last two days.

My only course of action, according to her, is to speak to the teacher first and then up the chain of command.

As of right now, I'm still waiting for a call from the teacher.

the teacher picks the curriculum? I thought that was basically school/district controlled...

I would ask the principal why he doesn't care what his teachers are teaching...

Thats what I had asked the counselor. She asked that I speak to the teacher first.

If he doesn't call me tonight, I'm going to see the principal tomorrow.
