I kind screwed up what I was trying to say now that I reread it I have been trying to rephrase what I sad but its just not coming out correct.

i wasnt flaming you, but there is an attitude in our nation of ignoring the problem until it goes away or blows up. we need to deal with this situation, no matter what the cost.

An 18 year old dumbfuck that doesn't know what work safe is. Maybe get an education and a real job and you will figure it out.

I would rather have a bunch of illegals running around not paying taxes than the gaggle of scum sucking welfare scammers that really suck the hell out of our economy. Illegals come here to work. Yes, they are here illegally, but they actually contribute a great deal to our economy. They lower our costs of production, make our products more competitive within the global economy, and help offset the trade imbalance that is really killing us.

AJ - Did you get more than about 3 of the big words in that post?

"They (illegals) do the jobs that Americans don't want to do". How many times have you heard that line? It's not totally true. They're steadily moving their way into more skilled work. When I lived in AZ in the late 80s you could easily get a job as a Carpenter, well when I went back there 4 years ago you had better know spanish because it'd be hard to work as a carpenter without it.

Silly me for thinking that a thread started by A.J.Hall would lead to any serious discussion.

My point was that deporting 6,500 to 11,000 people a day, every day, for 5 years (do the math), without addressing the issues of how, and why their here in the first place, and taking steps to prevent them, or others from coming back in is just a stupid waste of resources.

I don't know all the economics of it, but it makes sence to me that if them not being here means that those that employ them will have to pay higher wages to different people to do those jobs that the products that they help produce will cost more. That said, if it is true that our economy, and certian industries, relys on immigrants working cheap to survive, them we should probably have some system in place for that to happen legals. It seems crazy to me to have to rely on people breaking our laws for our system to continue.

I just don't think that mass deportations is the answer, nor do I think that more armed guards and fences in the dessert is the answer.
This is what I would do:

Business that can show that they need the immigrant labor to stay in business, and can't get US citizens to do those job, should be allowed to bring in workers from other countries on some type of guest worker visa system, but they need to be responsible for them while their here.

Businesses that chose to hire illegals should be dealt with severly, even if that means they lose their business to pay for those illegals working for them to return home.

Any non-citizen found to be breaking other laws should be deported, unless the court decides that they need to be punished with a prison stay first. For minor offences just deport them. Any that have been deported are no longer elligible for work here.

After soem reasonable number of years if some refuse to play by these new rules them start rounding them up and sending them home.
