Yeah the best is when you get pulled over. The cops always ask "so uh - what are u doin?" So you just say in a stern voice "Uh delivering the mail- what did you think I was doin?"

My buddy used to actually deliver mail for the Post Office in this thing in the middle of a very affluent neighborhood and the cops would just pull him over just to check him out. It just didn't look right LOL.

Some of them had what appears to be a Dana 35, though. Most I have seen have the Dana 44s, as pokerob mentioned.

This would make a sweet, unique project for someone.

The frame is bad rusty in some spots, I was going to tig him in a new piece of homemade frame rail but then about 8 months ago the Post Office he was working for told everyone that they would no longer be able to drive their own vehicles on the routes. So he just parked it and now has no use for it. I always blame that one on him for driving such a "non-professional looking rig" in a ritzy neighborhood. Sometimes people would actually call on him thinking he was some kind of imposter mail man.

Yes I had Jim answer that last question- as far as the title goes I just called him and yes he does have a proper title and yes you can register it for personal use just like any other vehicle.

MORE INFO/MORE PARTS TO GO WITH IT:

It has been sitting for about 8 or 9 months tarped. The tires are above poor to Middle of the road.
Has Great heat.
My bud says lights, wipers, etc should all work.

He says he just found in the attic some more extra parts for this thing: Good used steel hood, fiberglass fenders, steel core support (he says the mail jeep core support is different than on a regular CJ), also new re-cored radiator.

You would have to come take a look cause it probably could use a weekend of TLC before I would consider it reliable again- mainly because it has sat for a little while.
