You may have heard a friend of mine died...

He is probably the nicest cop I have ever known and had a great family. I haven't seen him in a couple years now but he was still a good friend. I am almost in tears because he did so much for me.

RIP Chad

oh boy, that's tough. That is strange for a man in good health to just die from running in a race. Sorry to hear of your loss, he was quite the man.

Sounds like he lived life the way it should be lived, worked hard, was good to his family, and good to those around him. Seeing that he was a man of faith, we know he now rests in heaven.

One article that I read on line, maybe at mlive.com, said that he was from TC, yes.

Did his wife sing too? I know his wife recorded a couple cd's of gospel music.

It's funny to think back when I first met him back in '99. He was a scrawny 18 year old looking guy that signed up to be on Bike patrol. He came into the shop I worked at and wanted the only Midland Police bike fixed so he could ride it. We talked him into ordering a new Trek Police Bike with all the accessories.

He wasn't very strong but after that first summer of riding everyday he was definitely a strong biker. I saw him nearly everyday of the summer for about 3 years. We would talk about all sorts of stuff and we would help him learn more about bikes and how to work on them. After a talk about his kids he got me my first nonpaying teaching job working at Midland Academy as a PE teacher for a couple hours a week. His kids went to school there and they needed an experienced person to help out.

He was the only cop I know that chased and pulled over a motorist while riding a bike! I made fun of him for being scrawny and he laughed. He knew he was small but it never stopped him from trying. He would then tell me he was going to be waiting for me in his patrol car when I drove home
