Default Stress Relief

What are some things you guys do to relieve stress? Now, please, hold back on sarcasm and jokes, 'cause I'm really serious. I'm not sleeping at all anymore, I keep getting really sick, I'm depressed, and very tense. I don't know how to ease it even a little.

I can't drink 'cause I'll get more sick. Smoking is a big no. Sex is not a feasible option for me anymore because I'm not just going to have sex with someone I don't love.

Hang out with friends. I like the driving also. Although sometimes it will lead to driving in a rage.

I read, I never read books untill a few years ago,

Harry Potter books are good, simple, easy, mindless reading, lets you kick back and take your mind off everything

honestly, I'm re-reading book 4 since the movie comes out soon, I figured I'd refresh my mind on it.

to lighten the long drive to see Tonka, I think I'm heading to Silver Lk next week to close up if you want to drive there

I have a dog that's been with me a long time, part of the family. He is a great stress reliever, he doesn't get mad, he just wants to hang out and get his ears rubbed. If I'm not in the mood, he goes and lays down on his own.

Pets are good, just a thought.

Do you love your self ? sex is in fact the best stress reliever .

Now seems you dont love your self try this .

Avoid caffene several hours before bed . Glass of warm milk does help one sleep ( chocolate ) for me .

Hot bath

Tylenol PM << i should own stock in that stuff by now

Try going for a long walk. I like to put on head phones, and walk a couple miles when I'm having trouble sleeping.

The exercise helps.

caffine is a big deal for me, I have to watch to not have any after about 1-2 pm, otherwise I'll not sleep good.

I can't do exercise or walks 'cause my back and knees have been hurting worse than ever lately. I can't do the sex thing because I don't have anyone to have sex with anymore. Seeing Tonka won't relieve any stress because he's been making everything worse and we're no longer together. I don't have time to have a hobby because I'm having to spend all my free time studying for certification tests, which is hard when you're sick, have a migraine, and are passing out 'cause you're not sleeping. I don't know what to do. I'm falling apart and I don't have a doctor to go to down here. Right now I'm supposed to be in class but I almost threw up and passed out in my last one. And I still have a three hour lab at noon and a certification test tonight.

Man Steph, sounds like school is really getting to you. I don't have any great advice, I do find a walk and little excersize helps me, as does a beer. But sounds like those aren't really options for you.

Maybe, just take some personal time for a hot bath, good meal, and watch a funny/dorky movie. Might help you out a bit. And find my thread on funny movies if you need to find one. good luck

I don't have time for personal time anymore.

And as for the warm milk, I'm lactose intolerant.

And I don't drink coffee and I've basically given up on pop and such except for when I HAVE to stay awake in the early afternoon to study for tests because I'm not sleeping at all. I've tried sleeping pills and hot tea and showers and melatonin and nothing works.

a good massage from a actual professional can do wonders. it only takes maybe an hour or so, but it just releases tension and can leave you feeling very relaxed.

1. Limit your "playtime" on your PC.
2. MAKE time for light exercise. The time you've spent making this thread and checking for replys could have been spent on a 15min "bedtime yoga" exercise or a walk around campus.
3. Get some light. Be outside when it's sunny or hit a tanning bed once or twice a week.

I was going to suggest that, but figured being a college kid she wouldn't have the $50+ to pay for it.........plus I know there are a lot of volunteers on this board tho'

This is where a long ride on the Harley out in the country helps but because we are stuck with michigans freaking cold weather season this will only get you frost bite.

I like a hot cup of coffee and total silence out on the deck but again ..michigan weather !

I guess I've learned to cope with stress. and I'm looking to move from michigan to a warmer climate :)

come watch my kids for a few days and you'll find your stress is not bad at all.
