Default Rusted ARB Bull Bar?

Hey my ARB Bull bar is rusty as heck. I bought it in early 2001(I think?) and it started rusting after the following winter. I've sanded down some of the rust in the past and just spray bombed it....but it's getting really bad now. Especially the underside of the tube work.

Is it worth the time to pull it off, sandblast it and paint it with POR15 or something similar? Or will the pitted areas look like crap and start rusting right away again?

Or should I just see if I can get a couple hundred bucks for it, and have Ironman Offroad build me a new bumper?

Thanks

I have found that paint lasts better than powder coating. But it may just be because of poor metal prep in the first place. My Tomken bumper was rusted to shit after one Michigan winter, I took it off and painted it with automotive paint and it has been fine for a couple years now. But like I said, it could just be from the prep work I did, Tomken is from out west somewhere where they don't have rust..

I would not powdercoat it. We had a guy doing the best powdercoating we have seen for us, but it still would flake off and start rusting very quickly. Use a good enamal(sp?) and hardener and it will stay nice for a while.

My Warn bumper did the same thing after only having it a year. Kinda pisses ya off when u spend that much on it, and it goes to shit after only a year.

Use a Metal Etching rust surface prep when it is bare metal. Whatever you put on top of it will last longer
