kbb said they base their numbers off of consumer demand. Most retard buyers assume the japs have better quality. The reality is they do not.

If quality dictated resale value the Ford Taurus would rule resale.

So with this example you suggest american cars are right where they are supposed to be. Not in the top, well caddilac and lincoln might want to be there but wow, not in the bottom either besides the Solstice. I can't fruggin belive that two Toyotas are in the bottom five . . . who would have thunk it??

That's the top ten out of the hundreds of vehicles available. The Solstice is doign quite well amongst the jap cars.

You're right... apparently it's stupid for a person to turn in a lease vehicle and not expect to lose their ass over it. :miff:

Again, resale value is not dictated off of quality. If it were, the Grand Prix would be #2

So, resale value and long term usage do not dicate quality? How about Fuch ups per 100 vehicles? I have you there too.

J.D. Power long-term quality survey
Problems per 100 vehicles

Manufacturer Score
Porsche 193
Toyota 196
Honda 215

Here's your link http://money.cnn.com/2003/07/08/pf/a...lity/index.htm

How about, instead of trying to refute my points, which you haven't, try to make an argument of your own.

they why are there not more jap cars on there?

In the last 3 years i have worked for 3 different plants, first one was teamsters, second one was non union, third one was union, but i was not a part of the union. All these jobs capped out at about 13 dollars an hour for the floor workers. most of the people I knew were relatively hard working and were happy to be getting paid as much as they were(different economic environment where i come from) These people would not have gone on strike unless a major decrease in pay or benefits was facing them. why? because they would go under immediately because they live so close to the wire. If you make 30 dollars an hour and have the luxury of having money to bank, then you can afford to throw a little fit in order to get more things you dont deserve from a failing buisness.

I'm not saying anyone should take a cut in what they already get. GM dug themselves a hole by creating this mess in the first place.

back to the intent of this thread:

GM cannot run their plants w/out the UAW. They would lose to much knowledge and production.

fact- the Japs have been losing ground on productivity and quality. To the point that they are negligible differences.

fact- people like Gary Coleman are what is wrong with the buyers of this country. Keep knocking American cars and saying how great the japs are. . The difference in PPH is next to nothing on his link.

Good points buddy

Fact: I live in Michigan and a difference in two problems with my vehicle per year hurts my wallet twice as much as one.
