I love your craftsmanship on the door latch.

On a serious note, have you designed the fenders yet?

Those door latches took a lot of engineering!

I will probably put round metal fenders on it initially and plan on upgrading them later. The wall is reinforced over the tires to bolt anything too. I was going to build wood ones, but I want to keep the weight down. Maybe some retro flabbergass ones.. like these

Too many projects going right now. I haven't done much work on it (nothing photographic anyway). I do plan on finishing it here in the next month or so. Well, at least have it usable, it may never be "done."

It's just sitting right now. I plan on finishing it here pretty soon. I just can't seem to get any time to work on it lately. I need to find someplace where I can get a sheet of aluminum 5' wide to skin it with. I haven't really called around locally, but I'm hoping one of the places around here can get it. I am going to order the epoxy to coat it with next week, then coat it the week after. Then it will be ready to finish up, so hopefully I will be updating this soon.

I do plan on using this thing at least a few times this year..

Ditto ... I've been toying of the idea vs. pop-up for a while now. Would like to know the investment required.

Try a travel trailer dealer/repair place. I know there is a couple places in Flint that would/should have it, just now down there.

That's not such a bad idea.....I'm sure if you engineered it right, it could look pretty cool! Not to mention, 2 spare tires. I'm sure you could probably use the same type of axle housing on the trailer so you could potentially have spare gears and axles if you needed them.

It will probably end up being a couple grand total. I have somewhere around a thousand into it as it sits. I still need some relatively expensive stuff to finish. Hatch hinge, door hardware, the metal skin, exterior extruded aluminum drip edge and moldings, epoxy coating.

There are ways to cut corners (that I didn't use) like using a pre-built trailer, a more user friendly size. Mine is 5x10, which is not a common wood dimension, so there was a lot of waste.

Looks real good, keep the pics coming, I did one last winter and sold it in the spring on Ebay for double what I had in it. I had no plans just ideas from my son. Keep up the good work.

I have both doors and the hatch finished. I have been plucking along on the galley. I am in the process of epoxying the exterior every night after work. Pics should be coming soon..
