sweet project! i do alot of back woods camping. and the biggest problem is when you run out of electric. if you convert most of the lights over to leds they pull alomst no power! will your electrical system have a charging system to charge the battery while towing(a handy feature)? check ebay for a used inverter/charger. many campers swap out the magnatec dumb chargers for a progressive dynamics smart charger. probably could find a used one for 50 bucks. small quiet generator would be sweet too. old honda ex650 would be perfect, seen them on ebay for around a 100 bucks. then all you need is a porta potty and you would be totally self sufficient.

I plan on running all LEDs. It has both a charger and converter installed. My van is set up to charge while towing, I haven't decided on the Jeeps. I may run a wire for it. There will be no generator, kind of messes up the whole "back to nature, wilderness camping thing." If we are at a campground, it will be plugged in.

I plan on putting one of those tents designed to attach to the back of a truck off one side too.

I got some sliding windows for the side doors and should be putting those in next weekend. I also built the ribs for the back hatch, so hopefully that will be getting some attention soon.

My garage is currently full of water, so I have been procrastinating.

Updates soon!

If I remember right, my axle is just over 5' wide. The problem with using the American Motors 20, is weight. If you don't care what the trailer weighs, it would work fine. But junk yard trailer axles are super cheap, and all the hardware is attached.

For teh Scooter, I went out and did some work on the teardrop today..

I finished one door and got the window cut out done in the other. I didn't have enough lluan left to skin the inside of the other door.

Here is the cooler slider...
The tracks are supposed to be 250 pound capacity, we'll see.

The ribs for the back hatch are done, I should get to that next weekend or so. I'm looking forward to having that finished..

I think after that it's epoxy coating time!
