POrTaL AxLeS

These are the best axles that give you a true 4.5 inchs of clearence. Where can you get them? and why don't we see more of these around. They should be common??

funky bolt pattern (8 lug conversions are out there though)
need to do pinion conversions
front pinion is more towards the center which usually means in it in the oil pan.
up front price, same $$ in the long run though
really high gearing
not the best highway driver axle

Cliff notes: great for a tube buggy

hard to package, not paractical considering the amount of modifications needed to make them work, heavy, they still have weak points, replacement parts are hard to come by, usually the vehicle sits too high unless designed around the axles, a good driver can put normal axles in the same spots as portals, a good driver will see no challenge in the trail once they are installed. is that enough reason?
