Default sad sad sad

At first I thought this was going to be funny...then I realized the awful
truth of it.

Think about it….

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways To
Tax his @ss

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers then
Tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me
To my doom..."

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax
Building Permit Tax
CDL licenseTax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Dog License Tax
Excise Taxes
Federal Income Tax
Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)
Fishing License Tax
Food License Tax,
Fuel permit tax
Gasoline Tax (42 cents per gallon)
Gross Receipts Tax
Hunting License Tax
Inheritance Tax
Interest expense
Inventory tax
IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax)
Liquor Tax
Luxury Taxes
Marriage License Tax
Medicare Tax
Personal Property Tax
Property Tax
Real Estate Tax
Recreational Vehicle Tax
Service charge taxes
Social Security Tax
Road usage taxes
Sales Tax
School Tax
State Income Tax
State Unemployment Tax (SUTA)
Telephone federal excise tax
Telephone federal universal service fee tax
Telephone federal, state and local surcharge taxes
Telephone minimum usage surcharge tax
Telephone recurring and non-recurring charges tax
Telephone state and local tax
Telephone usage charge tax
Utility Taxes
Vehicle License Registration Tax
Vehicle Sales Tax
Watercraft registration Tax
Well Permit Tax
Workers Compensation Tax

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our
Nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in
the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What the hell happened? Can you spell "politicians!"

Steveo has a point.

Taxes are needed to fund the things we expect from the government. However they are getting a little carried away.

If you cant tax something they just make a law making it "illegal". Unless you pay $100 for a permit.

I am tired of the government making shit up as they go just to suck the money out of my wallet. I am considering jsut collecting welfare. Shit I have paid enough in taxes that others are living off of. I might as well get some of my money back.

mike's right. a hundred years ago our country did not get involved in the rest of the world like we do now. federal income tax was 1% of some peoples wages. not many people had to pay income tax. i believe it was also supposed to be temporary.

you guys need to look in the history books. 100 years ago we had the Philippines, a huge chunk of the Caribbean, and part of central america not to mention holdings in china. we were well on the road to empire in 1907. there is no excuse for the level of taxation we face combined with the benefits we get.

I thought taxes were a good thing? They let me not make as much money as I should for little in return.

What's so bad about giving your money to the government, so they can spread the money more equally thus making the lower class and the middle class one?

Uh, hello Mr. Marx.

What a crock of shit.

So two wrongs make a right? It's okay that we give money to people who dont deserve it because we are wasting it in other areas? :miff:

How does that $20 million compare to buying blankets, feeding the poor, etc? Does anyone know where to find breakdown of welfare costs and other gov spending?
