Exclamation grand cherokee Welding front axle

Hey I have some questions I have a jeep ZJ 5.2 with the Dana 30 the rear is welded I also wanted to do the samething upfront some people told me not to do it and some people tell me put locker in or some people tell me it's okay to weld it so I'm confused this is a trai Maine will never be on the street thanks

1) PITA to steer when welded
2) D30 probably won't hold up very well
