How do you figure? Have you been to the cruise? I've driven the entire route, and let me tell you, it's easily 1 million people. It's 16 miles of traffic jam, with people lining the street the entire route.

And those 1 million + people are all spending money. My neighbor owns a party store on Woodward, right in the heart of things. He would kick your ass if he heard you mention ending the Dream Cruise. He fills his refrigerators for the event, and they all get emptied by day's end. He makes more money selling ice that day than most Detroiter's make in a year.

And don't forget the free chicken wings at Chicken Shack?? I would kick your ass if that went away.

Yes, I wish it to end. It must die a slow and painful death

I have been twice, probably won't go again. If I do it will be because I am bored... it's not fun watching cars overheat and pull into the median, people smashing into your ride because they are being stupid, and pushing people out of your way to attempt to see a nice car... just way too many people.

If I was going to be in town I would go to the Back to the Bricks cruise in Flint, take the '46 or the '78 T/A, you know since it's not cruise worthy because it's late 70's... :tonka:

Nice effin T/A man. I would've brought the '79 but we couldn't build it fast enough for the cruise. That and I sold the body shell in hopes to get a '76 455/4-speed shell, which the guy sold even though I told him to hold it so I could get the money. So now I am parting it out and saving for another Poncho. I consider the second gens to be classics, even though most consider them to be in their "teenage" stages of reaching classic status.
There's a small show that goes on over here at Hoops and they have a dedicated area of their parking lot for it. There's a sign in the front that says, "Sorry but only classics made before 1982 can enter." Thought that was pretty accurate.

Stay away from the 13 mile area and its way more laid back. You can see most of the cars and not be mobbed 20 deep at the curbs.

Yup - I'm nuts, I only posted those up there because it was a crack at the His and Hers thing. Mine looked like crap and hers was mint and that was taken at the Downriver Cruise on 2006.

Did I forget to mention all the cars I have . I do have a 74 and 81 Camaro - - and wish I had the 69 Camaro Z28 RS SS Pace Car (original not the copy).

I wouldn't trust the intake to hold. Some damn 16 year old put that on when he was first learning about cars :tonka:

Autographed!!! Sweet! I will have to delay those pics for now. That is one that is currently undergoing a restore. I just finished replacing the trunk floor and I am scratching down the outer body shell. The only change I made from factory was converted from manual windows and locks to power.

Everything else is all original. It is white with a blue and white interior. 83 was the only year to have the SS embroidered headrests (very rare if found in 84).

More like:

Bandit: I'm goin' to need a fast car.
[Watches as Little Enos begins counting out money]
Bandit: Faster than that.
Little Enos: I'd like to kick his ass just one time.

Nope, that one was silver. Kid bought the car when the movie was done.

Damn - a lot of haters out there. I think there's room for all "special interest" vehicles.

Although, I will admit that kids in daddy's bone-stock V6 Mustangs, golden agers in PT Cruisers with stick-on flames, and anyone with loud thumping bass driving next to me for 25 minutes start to get on my nerves.

At the Fort St cruise this year, I did get fed up with the thumping bass out of a clapped-out late 80s/early 90s Rustang - it kept making the loose-fitting tailgate, license plate, and assorted trim pieces buzz as they vibrated. The buzz got on my nerves more than the arhythmic "thrum thrum" of some forgettable hip-hop.
