Default Ford Diesel

Ok...

7.3, 6.0 and 6.4.

There is a dealer locally that offers "lifetime engine warrantyz" on all of their used vehicles with several conditions such as cracked heads and blocks.

I have heard the 6.0 sucks. What exactly sucks about it?

Are Ford's other diesels really any better?

The 6.0L had early trouble with the injectors, and as far as I know, the 6.4L is having a few problems out of the gate.

Personally, I have a 7.3L in a 96F250 and really like it.

There were several issues with the 6.0. Thats the problem, it was never just one thing. Lots of turbos disintegrating, too.

-7.3
-6.4
-6.0
Stay away from the 6.0 if you can. Too many problems (injectors, egr, head gaskets, turbos, etc.) you will have it worked on more than you drive it. The 7.3 is your best option of the three. The 6.4 is good so far but is still "new".
