finally have it running good.cleaned all my injectors..wow! it's a whole new rig.it's sick fast.definetly going to break some parts and put on a 1% show! named a couple new hills at twisted this weekend.aj got his backhoe out and dug some new climbes in the back. wrong way mountain is knarly and jiggler hill...

the new bling...found a smoking deal on these so rocking the 20 for a little longer. will have my inner air locks in this set and see if it saves my wheel a little better. after looking at the weight difference of a 43x17 to my 42's on a 20.really wanna keep the 20. will most likely get some 43x20 when i can find a set.

i have had them for 4 years...just never got put in.there going in these.i have to have them or i will just destroy these wheels also.

i might do a inner ring.seems like thats were i bent my other ones the most. these have a slight ring already and some bolts for added traction.

What kind of numbers? I have been curious about this for a while now, I'd really like to see the difference between the same large tire/wheel combo in a couple different wheel diameters.

I always figured the 20's were helping your old 4.0L keep up.

my 42's are 95 pounds a 17" 43 weighs 121. almost 30 pounds difference in a steel 17 versus a aluminum 20" rim. so 55 pounds or more difference in a steel 17 on a 43 versus the 42 on a 20.

yes. summit did warranty my fuel pump so i have a new pump also.but i cleaned the injectors and started it with the old pump.ran perfect.
there was a little dirt on top of the injectors and maybe some old corrosion. just blew them out with air. i also found i can hook them on a battery to click them open to clean also.

Did you weigh the wheels?

I don't doubt the difference, 55lbs of rotating mass * 4 wheels * gear reduction equals a lot of horsepower. I know I could feel the difference in throttle response when I put the 9lb flywheel weight on my 2.5L YJ...it was awesome for crawling but trying to tackle a long hill with an SM420 (think bread truck) was an exersize in futility.

Seems the game you're looking to play would be best played with the lightest possible wheel/tire combo (within durability reason), otherwise you'd have to jump tax brackets in the motor department.

I am not sure that light is the answer.
A heavier wheel will effectivley lower the vehicle center of gravity.
It may also store some inertia on the 1% WOT assults on the hills.
I know it will take more to get the initial weight moving but there are pros and cons.

I also feel durabilty should be a major consideration.
A smaller diameter rim moves the wheel farther from danger.

so after getting the details on the rims i ordered.they have too much backspacing and i canceled those.found a couple others that look like they will work..so more bling on the way. wich one you like? they are all about the same price.
