Default Will I die?

Looking to tow home a little compact truck (reg. cab ranger), about a 200 mile trip. How scary would it be to use a FWD minivan with a tow dolly?

Just borrow a truck or van.

Seriously.

Depends on the van I guess. What is the tow rating of the minivan? My minivan is only rated for 2000 pounds towing. Fawking thing won't even pull my pop up camper.

for what it's worth, I used my old 2002 Olds Silhouette to pull my 79 Cutlass on a tow dolly about 120 miles.
I had a Class III hitch on there, no idea what the tow rating of the van was.
Car weighed 3900#, and it pulled just fine at 60mph in January. The only time it got a little scary is when I had to stop quickly to avoid a deer crossing the road, and it started to jackknife a bit. But by then the deer was gone, and I could give it gas to straighten it back out. :D

Oh, and with the 3400 motor in the van, I averaged 14mpg on that run.
Would I do it again? Hell no, now that I have access to a fullsize truck.

That was also keeping it out of OD, too.

My Father in law tows a 18' utility trailer occasionally with a Silhouette van, OD off, I don't know what the Kubota weighs, but I'd assume it's pretty heavy- Diesel, front and rear loaders, etc... But only about ten miles from his place to work. Honestly, It would scare the hell outta me.

To be quite honest, if the van hadn't been repoed, I'd still enjoy driving it. It got 28-30mpg for everyday driving, had room for 7 people, could haul a LOT of stuff inside, and still tow decent amounts.

I might look into buying another one someday, but this time AWD.

Yeah, same van, a Pontiac Montana. I thought the hitch was a 2" receiver but its one of them tiny ones, so that put an end to this bad idea.
