Default de-socialized fire department???

http://www.news8austin.com/content/y...sp?ArID=141152

When I read this I thought it was a joke...

although, they bill your insurance company if you have insurance, but if you don't, it's free.

weird.

it's not truly de-socialized, but it seems like a step in that direction.

Groveland Twp has a recovery ordinance for all calls and we just passed one for alcohol related stuff.

Its more common than you think.

They have kicked that idea around here (Southwest MI) and I think some of the rural departments have implimented that for DUI's and other "crime" type situations to help offset the costs. Actually they were talking about billing all non-residents for services at one time (calls on the highway mainly).
