And of all these things you thought were safe and guaranteed to be there for your retirement. Besides the fact you proven to have no reading comprehension skills by assuming that I want someone else to pay for my medical, you like many others assume that a US social health care would be a carbon copy of Canada…such a pity. On another note why would I sell my Land Rover? I like that car. I am selling a Dodge Viper. Do you want to buy that?
You're silly :tonka:

What you're failing to grasp, is when do the gov't handouts end? My tax dollars already go to support single crack whores with 8 kids, people who don't work, but like to sleep on the sidewalk, people with aids in other countries, and some of my tax dollars even go to the new world order. (UN).

So now, you suggest that the working class carry an extra burden of health care cost for this country. Do you have any background in economics? Do you know what happens when you bleed the middle class to death, and their is nothing left in their checking accounts? Do illegal immigrants receive free health care? Do murders just out of prison receive free health care? Do people who make over 250,000 receive free health care? Wait, that sounds way to weird. Why do people who make over 250k a year have to give 40% of their paycheck to the government, but receive NOTHING in return? How is that fair?

Since were going to be giving free health care, how about free bicycles? Transportation is pretty important. Maybe we should give every illegal immigrant, person without a job, and ex con a free bicycle.

How about cat food? I have two cats. I buy the best food you can get. Its $28.00 per bag. And I use a bag every two weeks. Now why should I have to purchase food, litter, and kitty treats for these cats? I know I chose to take them on in my life, but I do not think its fair that I have to support my cats, when millions of americans make enough money where it would make my life WAY easier if they helped out. I believe the government should start up an agency to take care of my cats.

How about hand jobs? That is pretty much mandatory for most males. Why stop at the free health care and bicycles? If we started the government agency of free wristers (GAFW), I bet the moral of the country would go up, and we would be supplying more people with jobs. Every male should receive one government handjob twice per week.

For all those that have their panties in a bunch about my feelings of a US social heath care system...Sad as the fact is, I know it would never work. I enjoyed the debate though, many of you had great points, others, not so much. Thanks for the entertainment! CC you had some good points so don't feel bad if I didn't take any of them on! Back on track MM is a dick bag..

every point he offers seems to be rather valid because when the offenders are faced with such issues they tend to crumble under the facts that he has displaed.

side note: bush sucks.

I vote that is definitely a part of universal health care! It can be considered preventative maintenance.

CC, you make some good points but you are overstating a bit. Everybody that pays taxes receives something...police and fire protection, roads, education, a judicial system, subsidized farmers (thus lower food prices), etc.

Right, but why should someone who makes 40,000 a year have to pay 27% back into taxes, when someone who makes 250,000 pays 40% back into taxes?

Its nothing more then punishing someone for being successful.

Do the "upper class" use 14% more policemen, fire protection, roads, education, judicial systems, and subsidized farmers?

This hits the nail on the head (for me, at least).

I put myself through engineering school, busted ass to get a good job and worked hard to get where I am at today.

As CC states, I am punished for being successful. Also, since the last round of raises / promotions in my household, we're likely going to net less money this tax year because we're in the next bracket.
I'm sure several will say "I wish I had problems like that" - you can too with enough work - then all of a sudden it won't see so "fair" when it is your money being taken away. Not to sound callous, but I'd bet I use less of a few services listed above because I can live in a good neighborhood and not worry so much about crime. On the flip side of that, I pay more in property tax and millages to support those services. (at least property tax is independant of my income)

It is funny that we do seem to punish success in the U.S.

That is true but........for most people the more money you make the bigger house you live in = more taxes.

not if you own numerous houses and claim them all as your homestead.

:tonka: :tonka: :tonka:

but then the gov't evenutally figure it out, and you get a large bill
