I hate Michael Moore. My wife is the blond security guard that wouldn't let him up to see Smith in Roger and Me. He made his money and refused to pay anyone in the movie a penny. He used the pretense that it was a "documentary." It's as much documentary as Harry Potter, in my opinion.

Yea, this isn't Canada....WTF does that mean? This isn't Russia either. The point was not the flaws of Canadian health care, the point was the flaws of Government run health care. I already pay for enough of the lazy asses in this world, I don't want to pay for more.

I do not understand why you think it should be free. I am most confused about why you feel it is a "right". Someone provides a service, and you feel that you should have that service for free. What other service do you think should be free? Cable TV? Gasoline? Car repair? How about car insurance? How about electricity?

FREE THE INTERNET!

There is still medicare or medicaid...whatever the one is that you can get when you are old. If you want more, then either work somewhere that offers more in retirement, or save for it. Yea, save for it. Who is going to pay your house and car and food bills when you get old? Do you think that should be free also? Food is a right....right? So it should be free by your thinking.

I have a pretty good retirement program, but that doesn't mean I still don't invest money so I'll have enough to live on and support my family when I retire.

Don't be lazy. Work for what you get.

It's not worth debating this with you anymore, you can't understand where I am coming from, you assume because I want social health care everything should be free. On a side note, your pretty good retirement program that you think you have could vanish one day...just ask any of the City of Highland Park employees..such as their FD and PD....retired and had a pension one day, and retired with nothing the next...

And the exact same thing could be said about any government offering. Look at social security. Will it be there when I retire? I don't know but I'm not going to put all my eggs in that basket. That is why I am saving and planning for my retirement. I am not going to sit back and wish for someone else to pay for it.

The part I don't understand about where you are coming from is this....

Health care is a service, and you feel it is your right to have this service for free. How do you draw a line as to what service you feel is a right? How do you justify feeling that it is a right? What is your basis for believing that it is a right?

Wait, ok, even if you feel it is your right.....you are right, you have the right to have health insurance. Go out and buy it and you'll have it. You are going to pay for it one way or the other....either higher taxes or a monthly bill so what does it matter? You think the government will do a better job at running it?

You mean the same corrupt UAW that I know, or some special UAW I've never heard of?

You mean the same UAW that basically left the door open to the rest of the world to move in and take over the auto market by over-inflating wages? You mean the same UAW that forced some auto makers and suppliers over seas? The same automaker who blames Bush for making the jobs go overseas? The same UAW that takes their workers money and puts it into the democratic party? The same UAW thats kicked my company off jobsites because we aren't union? (We charge $75.00/hour, Union wages are $104.00 per hour) The same UAW that fights to get useless/drunk/lazy people back into their job after their fired?

My buddy Rob. Three times totally tanked on the job, three times fired, three times the UAW got him his job back. All in 2 years. Of course he had to attend 3 AA classes..

The UAW is a mystical fantasy land for the workers, and a burden on the rest of us who want to buy american.

I have many o many UAW family members.. And they all have something in common, they all hate the UAW.

My father is a retired UAW member. He hates them too. I might even buy a GM if they ever pull their heads out of their asses.

Oh yea, MM needs to go back to Cuba.

no one is responsible for you, but you. do you think just because you can't look into the future further than your next ejaculation, someone else should have to pay for your health care? get a grip on life. hey, here's a brilliant idea, if you are worried about not having insurance when you retire, sell you land rover, and save for a rainy day.

i wish people would stop calling national sponsored health care free, because it isn't. look at canada, an average family pays 60 percent income tax for a broken health care system. you're willing to double your income taxes to be treated like they are? i sure as hell am not.

Are you not being responsible for you when you take a job with benefits? Whether you understand the concept of your benefit package being part of your overall salary or not doesn’t matter. A prudent decision would be to take a job based on several factors, one of them including retirement, i.e. health care, pension or 401..ect. And of all these things you thought were safe and guaranteed to be there for your retirement. Besides the fact you proven to have no reading comprehension skills by assuming that I want someone else to pay for my medical, you like many others assume that a US social health care would be a carbon copy of Canada…such a pity. On another note why would I sell my Land Rover? I like that car. I am selling a Dodge Viper. Do you want to buy that?
