Default Linking to text.

Two or three times now I have noticed that the text I am associating a link with gets altered. Somehow, a bunch of /'s get inserted after I'm done and submit the post so it reads something like "blah/////blah-blah////blah///blah". Has anyone else noticed this?

  1. Go to the URL you want to link to.
  2. Highlight/right-click/copy so its on your clipboard.
  3. Go to GL and type whatever text you want to become the link.
  4. Highlight what you just typed.
  5. Click on the little toolbar button with the earth & chain links (or whatever those are) in it.
  6. Paste the URL into the box that comes up.
  7. Click "OK".

Were there any "Unprintable Characters" in your text selection? Maybe HTML tags like, font or bold or color? It should work, but sometimes things like that can bite you in the ass.

No, I wasn't doing anything like that. I can't seem to find any of them anymore. Its like it was temporary.

No, like the URL I posted and circled. That's a picture of a real one. Its not "like" anything - that's it.

This looks like a bug in vbulliten. Kelly If you can check in the DB and see if the \\\'s exist in there. I do not think they do because after you create a link with an ' and you go back to edit it does not show up. So I would think it is a problem with whatever is assembling the page.
