Default *SOLD* Parting out '86 CJ-7 Laredo (loaded)

Hey everyone,

I just picked up this '86 CJ-7 Laredo in Northeast Indiana (see attached pics). I'll be keeping some select parts for my next Jeep project, and selling the rest. It has a 258/TF-999 auto/Dana 300 (100K miles), and it runs/drives. Unfortunately, it has the AMC 20 rear axle, and not the coveted wide-track Dana 44. The body is very rusty, but the hard top is nice (rust-free rear liftgate). The doors have some surface, and the lower window frame pillars are kind of rough.

The frame has alot of flaky surface rust but no holes.

With the exception of the driver's seat, the interior is in great shape (passenger seat, door panels, leather-wrapped grab bar, etc.). There is also a Laredo fold-'n-tumble rear seat.

This CJ is loaded...power steering, power brakes, tilt column (auto), and even the rare intermittent wiper option (which works). It also comes with a Western plow (electric pump, not mechanical).

This is a "fund some home improvement projects" part-out, so I can't afford to give these parts away. I'm not interested in trades...cash only (unless it's something Scrambler-specific). Don't low-ball me on offers, or I'll just ignore you. :tonka: If you're one of the assclown's who always expects parts for "cheap-to-free", don't bother posting in this thread. I'll be listing all the Laredo stuff on eBay unless someone specifically wants something. However, I can pretty much guarantee that you won't get it for a $10-spot and a 6-pk. of beer.

Thanks,
Craig
  • Frame: No rust holes that I found, but it does have a considerable amount of flaky surface rust. $100
  • Dana 300 t-case: 100K miles, works well, but shift pins need cleaned up (shifts a little hard from gear-to-gear). NOW ON EBAY
  • Diamond Plate rocker & corner guards ** SOLD (pokerob) **
  • Power brake booster/MC ** SOLD (Scott V.) **
  • 20-gallon poly tank w/skidplate ** SOLD (JUSS10) **
  • TF-999 auto transmission: 100K miles, works great. $100 ** SOLD (Truck Massey) **
  • Steering column ** SOLD **
  • All Laredo-specific items (except stainless grill overlay) ** SOLD (George) **
  • Chrome Laredo front bumper. $25 ** SOLD **
  • Hard top: Very nice condition, no cracks, RUST-FREE liftgate with good struts and a key to the lock. ** SOLD (itselliott) **
  • Rusty tub w/both VIN plates, build plate & title: $150 ** SOLD **
  • Black rollbar padding: A few small tears, but looks pretty good overall. ** SOLD **
  • Black carpet kit complete. ** SOLD **
  • 258 I-6 motor: 100K miles, runs pretty well, but has a cracked valve cover. $100 ** SOLD **
  • Dana 30 front axle: 3.31 gearing, complete caliper-to-caliper. $50 ** SOLD **
  • AMC 20 rear axle: 3.31 gearing, complete drum-to-drum. $50 ** SOLD **
  • Driveshafts. $20 each ** SOLD **

Just ask about other parts. Drive before you buy. I don't plan on pulling anything critical to driving the Jeep until the "big" driveline items are spoken for (motor, trans, etc.).

Hi Kevin,

I believe it's 6' wide. I need to make a 2nd trip back to pick-up the plow blade, as I flat-towed the Jeep home and didn't have room for the plow. One of the cables is frayed, and one hydraulic line looks fairly dry-rotted (fine cracks in the hose). I did check the up/down/side-to-side functionality, though. It's a Western, so parts are readily available.

Yes, I'm probably going to sell it. I have a buddy who's interested in it, but I haven't really gotten a firm commitment yet. I'll have to check in with him before officially announcing the availability. I may be interested in a trade for an in-cab cage for my '10a if you'd consider that. I'll get an update from my buddy, then I'll get back with you.

It ended up selling for $100 to the same guy who bought the door panels (and wants a bunch more of the Laredo stuff). He lives on the East side of the state, and does REALLY nice high-end CJ-7 Laredo restorations.

I only have one extra 15-gal gas tank at the moment, and I'm going to keep it around for a future project. Sorry about that, Denny.

How far are you from THIS ROUTE? My family is heading on vacation to Virginia, and I'll have my trailer with me. I'd have to bust butt to pull the axle, and you'd have to meet me near the highway. Let me know.

That actually goes right buy me. Do you know if the hubs would fit on an XJ D30? I know at the least I'd have to possibly change rims for the bolt pattern. or maybe not. If you know.... let me know. Thanks, Chris

Do you know if I could use the brake system for a 1955 cj3b disk brake conversion. I know they used the brakes from them here is a link http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Tech/DiskBrakes.html
Let me know please

Is the wiper stuff available? I'm pretty sure the Scrambler I'm looking at doesn't have any of the wiper sh1t, so I'd like to find that all.

The parts in the link you posted are from an older Jeep. I'd really like for you to verify the compatibility, as I don't want to be accountable for parts not matching what you were looking for.

Wiper items are already sold. However, I always have CJs coming through, so I may have another by the time you get your Scrambler.
