Default long shot but need help on a 220 Bayou

I am looking for some one that knows any thing about Kawasaki stuff.
I brought a old Bayou 220 and was riding it around and it just shut off. Would not turn over. (Mind you all the ignition was cut out and a push button ignition put on it) Starter was clicking and that was it. Pulled the the starter out and it works fine.
i put it all together and now the start work but the gears that it engage into the starter gear now dont work.

I guess what I need is a wiring diagram or some help with this thing.

thank Chris

Did you try to turn the engine over with a wrench? To check to see if the engine is froze up?

Starter works fine is not an accurate diagnosis...

The starter relies on 100% power to engage the starter bendix and have enough torque to turn the motor over. A 4 brush motor will still work on 2 brushes but won't have the speed or power to start the engine.

Check your battery under load as well. You might have a cell dead. It should hold 10v with the starter engaged.

Ive seen worn gears in the starter drive, It will let the starter spin but will not engage the motor.

The starter was replaced the same time as top end.

there should be a series of gears that go from the starter to the crank, If any are worn the starter my not engage. Also i would have to see yours but i saw a motorcycle do the same thing and it used a system kinda like a stud remover and one of the springs was weak.
