Default 8.25 question

what is the difference between the 27 spline and the 29 spline 8.25? b/c i have a 27 spline, and i just happen to have a set of 29 spline axle shafts laying around. im just wondering if i could change to the 29 spline shafts at a later time, or if i would have to change something in the third member b/c of the different spline count?

well in most cases i beleive that different rigs comes with different axles to motor and tranny combos... you would havr to change to a different carrier of course to fit the 29 splines shafts... my guess is one came with a limit slip and one didnt or maybe a ranger axles and one explorer axles???

8.25 is Chryler axle not a Ford axle.

Back to the topic. Swaping from a 27 spline to a 29 spline is as simple as swaping carriers and shafts.
