It is a know place that very few have been able to go to. I have also talked to the workers before. I have been going out there for a few years now. with my dirtbikes and jeep.

I won't tell the location due to the fact that if everyone starts going out there they will start having problems with it.

I know they just want you to stay away from there work area during the day.

It is a fun place to just go play around.

Not bad, we have a pit by Alpena that they let us ride in as long as we stay clear of equipment.

So having permission from the workers is basically the same thing as a lawn care company giving you permission to wheel in someones backyard that there cutting the grass at? Unless it is written permission from the property owner it is trespassing

Curious too. Is it the one behind the park in Rockport? I saw some mud tire tracks when I was exploring there.

well i guess while some people are worrying and asking questions other will be riding and having fun. life is full of risks. we take a risk of injury everytime you sit in a car and drive down the road. i went because i have friends who have been going for years. i didnt ask if it was legal,it probably isnt fully legal as far as getting written permission, but i will be going back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this gravel pit has been there since the 1800's. i think it was originally bought for $1.75 an acre by the Gaunt family(i think thats the name).they had well over 100 years to complain if they didnt want people on it. i agree it still dont make it ok but i will still go until otherwise told..

Thanks for not giving a shit about the reputation that it gives to the community as a whole. Over and over there are areas closed down because the perception is that none of us care or respect the law.

If you don't have written permission, you are breaking the law.

AMEN BROTHA!!!

And while you're back there, make sure you run over some wildlife, and cut down some trees, and toss your trash in the ponds.

Have fun now, because people like you are ruining the sport for the rest of the state.

Why don't you drive to Mt. morris and wheel legally?

I have also been out there as it is a few miles from my house.. The cops have been back there and as long as you are not tearing shit up or under age partying they generally dont care.. But if you get stuck in one of the 20 or 30 ponds some wreckers wont go back there... It is kinda a dont be a ass and the cops wont be asses kinda thing.. But as far as permission there are many ways in and a few are blocked off.. The fishing back there is pretty good too..

Can you imagine if you used that logic in other aspects of life?

Do you think they blocked off some of the entrances just because they were bored?
