Default Which trans?

I have a G52 in my truck and a W56 sitting in the garage. I'm about to install my dual cases (as soon as the new x-member gets here) and I'm wondering which trans would be better to use. The W56 already has the cases bolted up to it, but the G52 is already in the truck.

Any strength advantages to the W over the G? Which should be longer? Thanks.

The only problem your going to have is, You need 2 top shift cases to put dual cases on a W56. The case behind the W56 is a top shift, but the case behind the G52 is going to be a forward shift (means the tcase shifter mounts on the back of the trans).

The W56 has some larger bearings, but if you can't find another Top shift case, you may have to reuse the G52.

He said the cases are already mounted to the W56 but the G52 is currently in the truck. I however know nothing of the issue at hand as I am still running L series trannies.

brimy, I already have 2 top shift cases adapted and ready to go. They are even mounted to the W56.
