Winch *Made In USA*

I am considering the purchace of a winch and I'd like to buy one that is actually made in North America (preferrably the U.S.). Warn and Ramsey are located in the states, but Nowhere on there websites do they claim "made in USA", which leads me to believe they don't wan't to tell you where they are manufactured. I sent Mile Marker, Warn, and Ramsey an email requesting this info, I'll post the responses when/if I get any. For those of you that have bought a winch in the last few years, maybe you could tell me what brand and what the country of origin was on the box. Thanks.

Does it matter......1/2 of the vehicle you drive isn't made in America

I have a Warn winch, but have no idea where it is made.

Peace

Mile Marker

Reply I received from Mile Marker tech. support... info@milemarker.com

Mile Marker winches are manufactured in different locations.
Some winches are made over seas. A good amount of our products are home
grown. Happy Holidays. With Regards, Greg, Mile Marker Inc.

none of the components on your Jeep, Chevy, Ford or whatever else you drive was made in the USA either, but it's always a good thought to support local businesses. I say buy whatever winch you want, but buy it from a vendor in MI.

80%-92% U.S. and Canadian parts content for several Gm's & Fords according to: http://www.usstuff.com/cars2005.htm
So, you could be right if 50%-62% of those parts are Canadian.

I'm well aware of the fact U.S. company's outsource lots of stuff, I just wanted to know if there is a Made in USA winch option to consider.

Too bad Ramsey winches suck. Buy a Warn. Let them know it is important to you that they use US labor.

GM has a joint venture with Toyota in the Vibe & Matrix. Toyota is not a supplier to GM. Much differant than Ford & Mazda. Would have been the same to say GM & Fiat a year ago, or GM & Isuzu. But not Toyota.....well not until Toyota (or another Japanese MFG) purchases GM

One of the best IMHO. The EP line has the fastest line speed of all the electrics on the market right now. One drawback is the design of the drum...it's great that the design allows the use of the synth line because it does not get hot but it also does not freespool easily. Just about as fast to power it out....but it is a fast and good winch.

One col thing is that Superwinch has a wireless remote for the EP line and that is just the coolest thing in the world. The kit adds a in-cab controller box and gives you a key fob typw thing that runs the winch in and out from like 300 feet or more...way more than the line you have anyway.

Yes, I am sure that if you tell Warn to use ONLY American Labor they will gladly lose the $15/hour difference in assembling else where
