There's an addendum that just came out Friday. Seems some folks who were quoting were having trouble with their insurance carriers. The Insurance carriers thought that the course designers and constructors would be liable if someone got hurt or rolled their vehicle over on the obstacle. Like flopping a truck is EVER going to happen...:tonka:
I'll see if CC can just add it to the original post, it's another .pdf file. PM your e-mail address if you want and I'll send it to you
One thing that people are missing is: This RFP is for the design of the course. It's a $20,000 budget for someone to describe, document with drawings, and spec out the course. all the type of obstacles we would like, The terrain changes needed for the hills if natural one's are not present. I think the currect assumption is that it's a 5 to 10 acre flat 'blank sheet of paper'. The actual $$$ for rock purchasing will be next years budget. The July 17th date is so the bids can be reviewed and the DNR 2008 grant can be submitted by Genesee Co. before the July 31 deadline.

the 20k genesee county got this year is allocated only for bids. In other words they are paying themselves 20k to look at bids and finding how much money to put in for to actually build it.

tech level is a no brainer really. I took the general too and managed 20/31 without seeing it before. Failed, but still interesting I got that high a score.

No, actually they are going to pay a company $ XX.xx to provide a design for the rock course. The $20,000 is the budget for the design. Not all of it will be spent. Genesee County has to pay the employees who put the RPF together. The RPF is basically an 'outline' of what the design might look like. No definitive details are required in the RFP, just high level broad brush quotes and general descriprive pictures. The better the RFP looks the better chance the company X will get the nod. Afterall, try to find a 'Rock Course' design company under any listing. This is prefect for a landscape company (who has 4 wheeling knowledge) to be bidding on.
