Default Had fun on Drummond!

Just a quick note to say my 5 day trip to Turtle Ridge 2 weekends ago was a blast! Had perfect weather up till Saturday night...thankfully just a little sprinkle. (Much needed though)

We took another 22 hours of footage of the trails before, during and after the Jeep Jamboree. We showed the crowd a 17 minute preview we threw together in a day and they loved it! They lined up at our booth and ordered up quite a few. They also liked the Attica Badlands 6 minute preview.

Another group had trouble with a DNR officer on "The Steps" halfway through the 2nd day. He cited the trail guide for having Jeeps on a trail not designated for them. (They have been running this same trail for over a decade or so I heard) Fined him for each Jeep on the trail. Stroked him $1500.00 worth! DNR wqanted to give each Jeep a citation but the trail guide took the whole thing.

The coordinator of the Jamboree wasn't too happy. They gave DNR their plans and routes prior to the whole thing kicking off and they approved them. (For the DNR Officer it's like shooting fish in a barrell with that kind of intel.) Last I heard it was canceled out and taken care of. Thankfully.

so was this just a case of the dnr trying to create revenue hopeing they could get away with it or was the field officer uninformed?

I heard some rumors of this but apparently it was all diffused. A young ambitious newbie CO.

That was the thought all along. The young man was "puffing his chest out" with this whole deal. Thankfully the trail guide, knowing the DNR officer was full of it, remained calm and graciuously accepted the ticket for everyone. Looks like that was a good call to say the least.
