Default Valve cover bolts on 4.0?

Well I went and removed all the bolts for my valve cover and used two fingers to remove them all, except for the nuts that are on the studs. I know that can't be normal. Would it be ok to use loctite on these when I put everything back together?? I know they shouldn't be backing out on their own should they??

A better solution is probably some lock washers. I'd just torque them down tighter (within reason).
