I guess I will add my $0.02

Well i have an 04 SLK320. Same motor but a lot lighter car. If it were me i would look for the e32. you will have a lot more fun and still get what you want from it. About working on them, there really isn't too hard. It's actualy easier to work on than most other imports. Maybe its just who's working on it. I dropped mine all around in less than 3 hours. compleatly gutted it for stereos and hard top modules. Mine is covered under a 4 year service and defect warranty so i havent had to do much with them.

Oil changes are nothing, other than a lot of oil lol. The filter is on top. You can use a fluid evac to suck it out of the dipstic so you dont even have to get under the car. Nothing special about anything else.

Here is my baby.

I hang out with anyone that likes to go fast. True though that most of the benz owners are cocky basterds....I think they wont even hang out with themselves lol. One of these XB's are supercharged. Thats one fast BOX

I'm trying to get the benz out to Gingerman race track tomorrow. Should be a fun time. Have an STI and maybe a supercharged M3 comming out too.

Liar, I seem to remember Auto Haus Klaus bringing one to the garage for exhaust work because the owner was to cheap to go with real Benz parts. I even rember what he said, " Ya, it is black"

What about a Pacifica? Its got better gas mileage and is somewhat sporty with the new 4.0L with 6 speed auto w/auto stick. Load leveling capable to. I can hook you up with a good payment to. I got some LOADED ones I know my boss is more then willing to break even on.

Going from a Benz to a Pacifica?
That's like comparing apples to bananas.

Not really. I know what you are saying but its not true. 80% of all tech in a pacifica came diretly from mercedes when they merged. Its just more affordable. They drive quite nice and have TONS of options. For the price I would take a pacifica ALL day long you can get them DIRT cheap used.

Alot of DC stuff has benz tech in it - the pacifica is a very nice ride....may not look nice (IMO) but the power is there and they're very very nice inside

the benz's aren't that bad to work on - if you've got a shop with the right equipment....aka not the driveway and not without a quality scan tool (like anything now adays though)

Sure it might have the same technology...but they are in 2 very different classes. When I think of a Benz, I think of a very classy sports car. A Pacifica isn't in the same class.

I guess I should have clarified....apples to bananas as in class.

The Pacifica has no carry over from benz that I know of. The only class that I would put it in is a oversized mini-van.

haha. The minivan blows the pacifica out the water in sales believe it or not. But people that say the interiors and class arnt nice in a pacifica havent jumped in a signature series. But I agree a mercedes does look better and the leather is REAL leather (in most cases). But its all about value and price.

I'm too cheap to get a Benz part too, but I donít mean stock Benz parts. An exhaust for the Benz runs in the high hundred to thousands. My customer one ended up at $90.00 :D lol but I built it myself. Most Benz owners will just drop shit off to get done. BMW's are a different story. My mom has an X5 and I've had to work on that a few times. Again nothing serious, but little things and upgrades. The BMW world is more into performance and there are a lot more info out there to work on your own things.

Oh and just cus its a "real Benz part" doesn't make it a good part lol.
