Default Is it safe to tow with an astrovan

I am almost to the point where id like to haul my truck out and play with it.
My 4wd astro tow cap is something like 5500 lbs. Until I can get my commando on a scale I'm guessing its in the 3800-3900 pound range. I am not to hip to the weight of trailers but guess them to be in the 1500-2000 lb range unless i went with an aluminum trailer which ain't gonna happen.

if not what would be a good tow vehicle in the 5-7 grand range ? Thanks

Grumpy

ok, max with your estiamnets would be 400 over. now i dont say that its safe, but there is always a safty factor. even if you get a 1/2 ton, most of there rating is for 5000... my truck which is a half ton its rated for 6k. if it were me, i would just tow it. go slow. becarefull. all that good stuff.
