Default mounds info

I have a friend who wants to go to the mounds but is worried about the noise policy they have on the site. He is running a cherry bomb I think on his CJ does anyone know if they check the noise of every levels of every vehicle?
thank

of every vehicle? @ the Mounds

technically the mounds has the same noise laws as silver lake (i think), but just as long as you have some sort of spark arrestor on it, it should be fine.

Same laws, Yep! 96 dBa @ 20" and 45* @ 2500 rpm
Check every vehicle, yeah right!! , BUT, if you sound louder that the last 5 or 6 vehicles going in they just might check you.
Big question, will they check you correctly, Most likely NO!
I've talked to the Genesee County Parks Ranger numerous times about the need to educate the gate attendants of the proper way to check vehicles but as of yet I have not gotten a reply.
As long as the neighbors are not bitching about the noise they hear in their backyard, we should be OK. The trucks are not usually the problem, it's the bikes and quads that are the biggest offenders due to their higher sustained reving engines.

I dunno, that orange S-10 that hangs with mudweiser is pretty loud with the stacks he's got. At least since he put the new motor in. But it sounds bad ass though.

as a regular at the mounds, dont roll in there revving it up etc. keep the revs down until you are in the back and you wont have a problem

I asked the "cranky old fart" that worked week days last year to check mine and he laughed and said that he didn't even have a meter. But just to be safe, I'd follow Viperdave's advise.

LOL! That "cranky old fart" aka Artie is pretty cool... We go out there about once a week, durring the week. I have never seen anyone get tested, and like Mongo said, he dosn't even have the meter. The only thing is, there is sometimes a CO out there at the gate just chillin' and if you are stupidly loud they might test...

Have fun, the mounds has some pretty cool stuff, just dont underestimate the depth of the water/mud holes.

Cherry Bombs aren't spark arrestors, and aren't 'legal' for the mounds without something else to as as a spark arrest(turbocharger, baffled muffler, or bolt on spark arrestor).

It'd be rare, but you can get bumped for not having the spare arrest. I've seen it once with a member of our club.

During the week is not the weekend and the old fart doesn't work weekends.

I was stopped a few years ago from going in becayuse I had no cats and cherry bombs. The cherry bombs were mounted about mid to back of cab on shortbed chevy with full tail pipes exiting behind the tires....You will need some sort of spark arrestor.

Just pull up to the gate free reving the shit out of it. They will be soooo skeered they will let you in for free.

Trust me, we do it every tuesday and every other saturday all year round.
