Default What about all of the prayer requests going on over in the pub?

I've had my fill of religion without even coming in here.

Dave, I love a good conversation about religion. The only problem I have is that many discussions drag a predjudice of the Catholic faith into the mix. Since I am a Catholic girl I find it distressing when Christians attack each other for any reason. It seems that with all the bad press my denomination has had, we are open targets for evil predjudice from even our brethren in the Body of Christ. I can hold my own against any non-Christian, but to have to defend my faith against the hate mongered by a fellow "believer" is distasteful.

So Catholics can be normal people?

J/P, the only Catholics I have a problem with is sinful leaders. I have not seen any Catholic bashing on here, I have a feeling there are more of them hiding in the background than you realize!!

So, do you find religion filling like a.g. does?

Ahhhh......let he who has no sin cast the first stone. I don't have problems with sinful people, since we all are. I pray for them.

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs or lack of them. I believe that my faith is a gift from God. We Christians choose the path that is right for us. I happen to have chosen to be Catholic. Most people are very disillusioned about the Catholic church and base their views on an archaic version of my faith. Media is to blame for most of that. Catholicism is rarely presented in a favorable light.

I do find God, not necessarily religion filling and fulfilling. He is my sanctuary and my sanity. I wrote a prayer and printed it out on posterboard and hung it on the ceiling exhaust above my broiler station at work. Reading this is sometimes the only thing that keeps me from killing people

I was aiming at the fulfilling tie in, lol

Well, you and Miffy will have to join forces and change people's perspectives of Catholics. You both seem like nice people :)

x2.
It seems that whenever I'm in a religious conversation and I mention that I'm Catholic, the topic switches and they start bashing us with facts and such that aren't even true.
On that note...I think priests should be able to marry.
