I want to make copies of my Garmin Mapsorce discs. They are getting pretty scratched up so I want to make a new copy. Can you suggest a program to make copies of the originals?

Windows XP has built in burning... that should work unless the disk is protected.

Nero works great, and will even copy some minor protected disks.
mapsource is proprietary software and should not be copy protected.
meaning you need a Garmin GPS for the software to work.

If you are making copys of it, you will be fine. If it is scratched, get a Disc Doctor to clean it up.

If you are really trying to steal a copy of the mapsource, you are screwed. I've now had 5 different Garmin GPS systems, and their mapsource softwares tighter then the virgin mary

http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

Works well for simple stuff like this, and its free. pretty straight forward, you make an iso of the disk, then burn it to a blank cd...

or you can keep the isos on your computer till you need to burn a new disk

I just want to make copies of software I have purchased (mapsorce, photoshop, ect.) so if the discs get damaged or lost I'm not screwed.

if you have the hard drive space, and/or a portable hard drive, make an .iso image of each cd. the iso tool suggested, nero, or alcohol120% all would provide useful tools for doing so.
