in the few winches I've seen come out of the box, the power cables were already connected to the winch. The big point from above is to hook them to the top posts of your battery, not the side posts (if you have side posts like on a replacement battery like an optima).

Johnny J, thanks. I ordered a aluminum fairlead last week. I still don't own a snatch block, but was just curious with the synth cable.

i Still need to get a snatch block for mine... before i REALLY needit, I came very close to needing the amplified pull the last time i used my winch

I use a die hard battery with mine, the warranty was like 5 years and cost half of an optima, I wanted an optima at the time, but there were like 4 people locally I know of that theirs went bad within a year, and optimas have only like a 3 month warranty. Kind of scared me away from them then.

anyone know if TSC carries snatch blocks? I havn't looked, but they had the d-shackles for $12 versus warns 30... same rating too.

I used the top posts on my Optima Blue Top - because optima specifically says they will not warranty a battery that's had a large "winch-like" load connected to the side posts.

I don't know why, I just know that they folks that build them (and who support and promote them pretty well) say not to. Good enough for me.

Myself, I bought the MileMarker winch accessories kit from Jeeperz Creeperz (plug). It was priced better than the Warn (which has Chinese stuff too) and was pretty complete: 2 D-ring shackles, a snatch block, tree saver, leather gloves, and a bag.

Yeah, pretty sure they have them in the glass case with winch controllers and other expensive but small parts.

Jake, TSC does carry snatch blocks...the Warn brand. No sure of price, but I believe it was the same as what the Warns go for on the web.
