Default Feeler: 1994 ZJ 5.2L Red loaded Trans Issue.

I am trying to decide what to do at this point. I got this 1994 off my dad with a bad trans. Payed $1850.00 for it It has 180K around that. Motor runs great no problems there. When I got it the only issues were the bad trans and the hood. My little sister took it one day and for some reason popped the hood didn't shut it all the way and It flew up on her at like 55mph. It bent the corners at the hinges but still shuts and works fine. I have another hood that I was going to have my brother who paints at a body shop spray it at some point. Wasn't that important. Just wanted to get the trans issue resolved and I Didn't have the funds to pay for a rebuilt one so I got a used one that was supposed to be good. Put it in and found out it was junk. Still not having money for a rebuild or rebuilt and being some what mechanical I started looking into doing a rebuild or overhaul myself. After much studying of the rebuild manual and research I tore the original trans down. In the meantime I picked up another trans that had less than 70K on it with a bad sungear. The OD unit looked good so I decided to purchase an overhaul kit, all the bushings, shift kit, new torque converter and new overdrive solenoid and got busy. Replaced the bushings and seals, gaskets and o-rings included in the kit on the trans, cleaned the valve body, and replaced the worn parts and performed the shift kit overhaul. Reassembled the trans and put the OD unit from the low mileage trans on. Everything fit good and checked out according to the infromation in the manuals. I must have overlooked something. I just put this in yesterday, fired it up and there was a clank noise coming from the trans. I put fluid in till it registed full on the dipstick before starting it and then added as I let it warm up and shifing thru the gears and the noise got quieter and quieter till it seemed to have gone away. I ran thru the gears several times then took it for a very short test drive, like less than half a mile and it never shifted out of first. The over all condition is OK. My dad seemed to manage to hit a dear like every winter so pretty much the front fenders bumper grille etc and even I think one of the doors have been replaced. The rockers in just the past couple months have gotten rusty. Has gray leather interior, The seats are in good shape tires are ok. Not bad not great but still have good tread. New shocks, ball joints, and other suspension parts. I have just lost interest. Want to sell and and at least get close to what I have into it back. Asking $2200.00. I can get some pictures if interested. My cell is 313-727-6698 and I am located in Fowlerville. Ask for Kent. Also before I came to work thismorning I started it up again and the noise was there again. I shifted thru the gears again and when I shifted it into reverse the noise would stop but when I shifted into another position it came back. May be something easy to fix but I don't have time or funds to keep going.
