Default 4wd conversion

has anyone ever converted a 2wd dakota or any truck for the mater to a 4wd? looking to do a 4 link front and rear. i can fab all the parts, just i have never seen one or anything like that done. the truck is a '94. was considering selling, but might convert it insted. would also be thinking of useing leafs up front as well depending on ease and cost...

leafs in the front will make it a cheap and easy swap.. build cross members with mounts on them and done... what axles do you plan to run and as well as t case and tranny??

Hmm, someone on here has a solid axle dakota.. motorcitydak, I think.

If its a basic 4x4, I don't recommend it. If its a build rig, then its often a great way to gobe cause so often you trash the stock front axle & mounts anyway. So you get a cheaper/better rig for the same work.

looking to try to get it set on a set of 35"s to take to the mounds mostly and beat the hell out of it. was thinking of going with dana 44 front and dana 60 rear.
