The rear disc brakes turned into a fiasco. To make a long story short, I bought a bolt on bracket kit off ebay and after some miscomunication the final product was not what I was looking for, so I modified it to fit my needs. I extended the brackets to fit a larger rotor and beefed up the thin area around the center bolt hole.

The final product uses a stock 1/2 ton 9" axle shaft. Scout rotors that have been re-drilled, cleaned up on the back to fit over the axle flange and turned down .050" to fit the GM metric calipers. I found some lug studs that fit the stock axles and have an extended shoulder for the rotor to center on. And a cheap set of pads from Autozone because they are thinner and will let the caliper fit the thick rotor.

After the month long goat rodeo with the brakes was finally over I turned to the steering shaft. I put the shaft out of the old 4-PLAY rig up there to see how much it needed modified and it was a perfect fit with no mods needed! The angle looks a little steep but only it measures 32 degrees.

I had hoped to use the stock EB instrument cluster but it will not fit in this dash. Time to play cardboard-mock-up to get the aftermarket stuff to fit.

The dash is done and waiting for wiring before I install it

Got the new winch. The bumpers are being bent up by the same guy that did the dash.

The front calipers have a 7/16-20 banjo bolt and the only DOT braided lines I found are 10mm, so I built this smoothie adapter.

Shot a coat of white on the gate and added a little bling (it actually covers a bunch of holes from rivits etc.).

It hit the scales with no top, doors, bumpers, or fluids. When it hits the trail it will be about 5k including gear and people. I was hoping for less but that's still 1500 less than 4-play was trail ready.

She stands on all fours for the first time (with the mock shocks), the coilovers are ordered and on their way.

Got a universal 18 circuit wire harness from Summit. Tried to follow the instructions but it was set up for GM switches and there's circuits in the harness that are not in the instructions. Threw the directions away, cut the plugs off and here we go.

Not sure if I'll make it but I'm trying to make it start and run long enough to get on the trailer, so I can take it to Broncorama at Jeffs in 2 weeks.

Yup, and I would have if I had checked into them. I read so much complaining about their harness that I never checked their website. The new painless harness for the EB looks to be the cats ass for more of a stock configuration. But I have shuffled everything around and used enough non-factory parts that it wasn't worth the $800+. The Summit universal harness I got has a covered fuse panel and 18 circuits with all the wires labeled, and it was only $200. I was able to find the wire ends that snap into the light and wiper switch plugs. But I used the Ignition switch from the 79 and couldn't find those wire ends, so I had to splice that and the column plug also.

Default It Lives !!!

Not done yet but fired, running and put 5 miles on it tonight. It's on the trailer now and will be at Bronco-Rama in the morning.

Thanks to several good friends help, late into the night for the last couple weeks.

Pics later.

Got the shocks on Thursday night and it stood on it's own legs.

It started and ran for 5 minutes and the MSD box pooped out. So we cobbed my dura-spark II trail spare on it to get it going.

At last it moves under it's own power. I put 5 miles on it up and down the road with no mufflers and the cops didn't even show up. Either my PITA neighbor is mellowing or the cops are tired of them calling.

Made it to the Broncorama show at Jeffs. The most frequently asked question of the day, "is that a 460 in there"?
