No visible progress. Got the axles sitting under it to start building suspension links. Had to take time out to give the big one some TLC, get the mud and water out of the places it shouldn't be, installed new brakes, wheel bearings, etc, and just for fun 4.56 gears. Should have that back on the ground this weekend.

When I make the switch I'll only be down about a month. That's why I had to do a little TLC on the big one now, so the parts that are gonna live on are worth using.

Hacksaw. Not all wheelers built from scratch are called the "J" word.

Finally got time to go at this again. Working on triangulated four link design for the rear and the more I learn, the less I know. Been measuring, crunching numbers, looking up termanology, measuring more, redesigning, and crunching more numbers, for a day and a half now. Trying to get good geometry that keeps the driveshaft within the slip limits, is strong and has minimal roll steer through the suspension cycle. Also keeping all links the same length so I only need one trail spare.

Should have the engineering session done tomorrow and be headed to the steel supplier on tuesday. Going with extended radius arm with a track arm on the front now because it's easier. Gotta turn up the heat to have it going by spring.

Got the first prototype link set up fabed up and tacked in for a test cycle. Note the ultra high tech pine link material. Works sweet, to bad the driveshaft will never move that far.

Back to the drawing board, version 2.0 coming up.

I am liking it...more motivation for me to get my ass in gear and work on mine. I feel your pain on the old Kentrol tubs. My door openings were each 1.5" too short for the stock doors....

I would imagine your going to use seasoned oak for the final build ? :tonka:

Frame is 3"x4"x.125" wall tube, very close to the factory EB. frame specs.

I was thinking seasoned oak or iron wood with a black walnut stain for the final design on the links.
