That last pict. looks just like the river that runs next to the cabins when they open the dam.
And as I said to who ever said they might camp, (prerunner) it might be pretty freakin' chilly that time of year.
Hell, its even cold to my but up there in mid August. lol
But, we will have way to much fun.

Ahhaha! Ken - get a real internet connection and the size of those photos will seem just right :tonka:

Tom - both those photos were taken on the same trip - the first one was day 2, the second was a few days later. They were taken on the Pukaskwa River a little bit north of where we will be staying. The end of May is usually when the snow melt has brought the level of the rivers up to peak and is the best time to run them (especially if you are looking for whitewater). That particular trip was 9 days from start to finish and the weather ran the full gamut from snowing to 70 degrees. If it gets 'too' warm for too many days, the blackflies will emerge... I'll take cold over blackflies any day! lol

Yes sir, I hope it is a little chili up there. Man, cant handle them black flys. Although I have a small bottle of 100% deet, they do not like that. Got that up to the porcipines last summer. Either way, we wont get cold at night, (oooooo ahhhhh warm cabins) or during the day. That is unless some one has a heaterless jeep. I think it will be good though.

A nice spec caught by my friend Paul -
**EDIT** - I no longer have a place to host the pics, so I removed the links.

Me with a mess of trout that we had for dinner that night -
**EDIT** - I no longer have a place to host the pics, so I removed the links.

And one more 'fish' photo - caught this Laker at the mouth of the Puk and made chowder that night -
**EDIT** - I no longer have a place to host the pics, so I removed the links.
..this is why I will be bringing my fishing tackle.

Yah, you are supposed to ahve one. I dont know how much they are but not very expensive for like a 3 day. And you can fish right in the river next to the cabins there. Denny says they catch white fish out of there.

And speaking of a licsense, REMEBER that, you should have you D.Licsens or I.D. and your birth certificate to cross the border. And no so much to get there as to come back. The U.S. is really finicky about I.D. coming back into the U.S.

yeah that would make sence. So are we gonna plan to meet by the Mackinac Bridge on the way up? So that we are able to caravan or something. i believe that nick from kalkaska, and boggin, and I, will head up together as we live relatively close. I think it would be cool to travel as a group.

If I can work it so that it fits my schedule, then I would like to caravan.. we probably have less of a chance of being hassled that way. On that note - I will be bringing my passport and of course my DL as ID.

We could hook up near the bridge if drummond and you guys want to do that. Yooper and the guys going with him, we could hook up north of Houghton lake where 75 and (27?) whatever that is up there come together up there is.
Depending on what time everyone is going to be rolling. I think we are leaving like about 7:00 A.M. That would put us near Houghton/Higgens LK 8:30ish and near the bridge around noonish.
I think.

Ok, Tombs, we could meet in Gaylord - exit 282. There is a Quizno's right there at the exit, and behind it is a hotel with a larger parking lot - we could meet in that hotel parking lot behind Quizno's. Gaylord is good because we probably won't arrive at precisely the same time and this way there are gas stations, food, and even an Autozone right there at the exit/meeting place, plus it's easy off/easy on, and plenty of room for everyone in the hotel lot.
I will most likely be driving my Jeep, not trailering so 60 mph is about top speed for me. If this sounds good, just tell me what time I should be there!
