Straight truck is a cake walk. Tractor-trailer in traffic in GR is something all together different. Very frustrating to say the least. BTM.

Uhh, michigan outlawed double liquid tankers years ago. A couple firery crashes involving fuel trucks.

Doubles aren't bad, until you have to back up.

its like backing a gravel train only with one hitch. and last I knew double tankers are legal as long as its things like milk & water... non combustables only.

backing up doubles is simple just hard around tight corners in a hurry

People get pissy when i have to back up a train in a narrow drive way on a 2 lane road... its ok all them years have breaks on them and I turned on my 4 ways

Backing a gravel train isn't that bad. The best advice I got was to think of the first trailer as if it was the truck. Use the first one to position the second. And turn the wheel opposite from what you'd do with one trailer.

Just have to pratice... main thing is look at were your tires are not the trailer once you have the tires going the way you want make it stay there... backing up strait is a brease unless your a spaz and do the serpitine 40 foot wide trick

just have to make your main trailer act like your atached to the rear one so if you want the rear trailer to go to the drive side you turn left makeing the front trailer go to the passenger side and it makes the rear go to the drive side as soon as it starts to go that way get turn right and get back in front of the front trailer and matain the arc just to over stear and walk it from side to side its all about make a move and let it react...most move to much and have to recorect and end up doing the side to side and look stupid thing... slow and steady till ya get good

simple!

Here are some hints for you .

They look for a lot of stupid shit . When going over a bridge or under an over pass notice the weight limit or height of the over pass . They will ask after you passed it .

Do not shift until you clear a interestion , no one does this in the real world but you do for the test .

Stop well short of the white line , they all ways say your crossed it when you didnt because they cant judge distance for shit .

Oh about backing up doubles , most of them pin . If the pin is not working on the double good luck

Friend took it in a 1ton van last year and he still had to read all the weights and heights, I aced my driving test years ago when I took that but I had some practice, even though the instructor thought I had been though the course before when they were teaching parallel parking, I just have no self esteem after my last job and its getting to me right now.

that said, I'm going to pass this test if I have to kill the instructor to do it, just never actully drove anything this big...
