Unhappy Doa 2007

I know this should likely be in the Trail Rides forum but the Pub has a lot more traffic.

http://www.glfwda.org/forums/index.p...topic=3104&hl=

In a nutshell. DOA 2007 is gone..........

Perhaps we could get some GL4x4 involvement and try and save it ?

Another good post.

http://www.glfwda.org/forums/index.p...topic=3108&hl=

We all need to try and work together.

I do not know what to say. As a newbie with no experiance, contacts or direction what can I do to help ?

Do you really expect the "yahoo's" of this site to care about a wheeling event?
I'm sure all the grownups at GLFWDA will solve this.
We are all immature d.r.a.m.a queens here.

It is folks with this attitude that screw it up for those of us who really care.
Not only is this a putdown for the sport as a whole but the GL4X4 group as a whole. :miff:

From the GL 4 wheel drivers. Whom ever they be. Or group they belong to.

I think you over looked a couple particular posts on the forum you speak of. Stan is just recapping those threads. In a nutshell, there are a lot of people here with time, love for the ORV sport, and most importantly, money. All three of those things would appear to be an asset, but for some reason I don't think any help is wanted from some folks over there.

Way to let a couple people speak for the whole association.

I should of re-worded that to include "some" people. not as an association, as I have not read the said postings. Just from 2nd hand info from numerous people this weekend at the jeep show...

CC, I would be curious who you talked to that said no help was wanted. Jim M. and I were both there and you didn't ask our opinion.

Were these people board members? I don't think so since none were there.

Second hand opinions are some of the most dangerous. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you have ever attended a meeting or spoken directly with a board member. I know that Mark Burns has been attempting to sit down with you. That may have happened & I never heard.

I have also asked to sit down with you one on one and you have avoided it by saying that if I want to talk to you I should come to a M&G. Now I like a beer as much as the next person but the conversation I wanted to have was to be able to discuss some things in great detail.

I see you say that you are interested by I continue to see you stay at a cautious distance.

Sarcastic comments from people who rely on second hand opinions don't benefit anyone.

i love . why is it always this kind of defensive attitude when it comes to glfwda? Now, I know quite a few members and former members and by and large respect each and every one of them and yet there is always this "chip on the shoulder" attitude I see from the Assoc. at large.
