Default just another buggy (3 month build) *UPDATE Page 2 Easter 08*

Sold the CJ8 a few months ago and started building the buggy right away.

Total build time from dragging the chassis into the garage to taking it to the UOC opener was 3 months and 3 days.

Specs

Chassis - built by Motorcity Machines (AlumCJ). It was his first comp chassis.

Powertrain
Motor - Supercharged Ford 3.8L, bored 30 over, ported Eaton SC, ceramic coated pistons, 10% OD pulley (~14 PSI), cam, FMIC, etc
Trans - Ford C4, 2000 stall Torque Converter, Art Carr rev man VB with comp braking
T-case - Ford Dana 20, AA 32 spline output assembly, custom cable twin stick, KOZ custom clocking ring
Driveshafts - built by Joint Clutch and Gear, 1410s rear, 1330s front
Front Axle - 1989 Ford D60, KOZ highsteer arms, lincoln locked, GLO front diff cover
Rear axle - 1989 Ford Sterling 10.25, lincoln locked

Suspension
Links - Triangulated 4 link front and rear, QA1 heims, 7/8 x 7/8, 1-3/4" x 3/8" lowers, 1-1/2" x 1/4" uppers, weld in bungs.
Shocks - Fox 14"x2" fronts, 12"x2" rear

Steering - Full Hydro, Danfoss orbital, TSC single end ram, 1-1/2" x 1/4" tie rod, 3/4 x 3/4 heims.

Tires and Rims - H1 rims with mag runflats on custom cut 39.5" boggers

Misc - 108" WB, 82" outside tire to outside tire, 20" belly, B&M sport shifter (no reverse lockout), kirkley seats, summit "2 pipe" muffler, MSD external fuel pump, Optima red top,

I saw you running it at the event looked like a solid machine.. just seemed to be having some problems.. (read your post about the broken shifter cable)

Very Cool Bones. How are those seats, extra soft? :tonka: I have never sat in those, but I like the Summit/RCI ones like you had. Looks solid.

Nice build. I like your choice of motor. I have always wanted one of those for offroad use. I have a supercoupe. I have always thought the torque curve would be great offroad.

Thanks, the seats are actually not too bad since they are reclined. They are a lot better than the Summit seats I had in the '8. The Kirkley seats have covers/cushions, but I didn't put them on.
