LOTS of progress tonight!
got all the frame welded up to accept the front springs. and messed with the rear discs and got one side all mounted up, fits nicely! heres the pics.

he did it at work, i beleive he used a bandsaw but theres two peices welded together there. and there's a bend in it..

new calipers for my front axle are 30 a peice.. I think i'll use what i have for the rear.. its christmas and Money's a little tight so i'll save where I can.

A&A Manufacturing or Portcity Racing sells the caliper brackets for an early 80's monte carlo's (small gm Caliper) for like 10.00 a piece. Calipers at Advanced Auto Parts are like 15.00

Just thought i would give you a heads up.

While agree that building your own stuff is nice, looking at your brake brakets I think I would have opted to buy some. I made my own because I had some 5/16" high strength steel at the shop. If I didn't, I surely would have bought them. Here is a pic of mine, S10 calipers with CJ rotors: (it is only tacked on in the pic)

there not gonna break there just kinda ugly, the 9 dollar ones are only 3/16th they dont need to be very thick at all.

Hahaha wana come over and look at my truck ?? trust those brake brackets are the least ugly thing on there I kinda wondered why theyd need to be thick the forces arent going that way.. they run lateraly (sp?)
