memorial day on drummond comp question

anyone know what the deal with the park will be? do they shut it down to other vehicles all weekend? just certain days? Just wondering if the park is closed to non competing rigs at all times.

also most people camping or staying in a hotel for this.

I hope so too. If that is the case, I will be going, and trying to work on dealing with this illegal trail cleanup issue, and wheeling as well.

I sent an email to the guy who is in charge of it.

Fuck....I thought it was closed to non-competing rigs.

I might be pulling mine up after all.

I left a voicemail on Ryan's home and cell phones (the guy running the deal)... so hopefully we hear back.

I haven't read anywhere that the park will be closed... only that they are having a competition. The plark is plenty big to let people roam that aren't in the comp... Hell, the comp itself isnt even that big.

The first event that will require a closed park is a twelve hour motorcycle enduro race. This race is hosted by Turtle Ridge and will be put on by Fun Promotions, Inc.. This race, I'm sure, will be among the most grueling endurance races ever held in the state. The race will take place on June 9th, 2007, and a second 24 hour race will take place On October 20th. For information on how to enter either of these races visit www.funpromotions.com. We are very excited to host these events and anticipate a great showing of participants and spectators, alike.

If this line means anything, I would think it is open to wheeling

I just talked to Ryan on the phone, and to his knowledge the park will be open next weekend. I guess the comp isnt that big. However, he is going to double-check this with his brother Eric (who also runs the park) and get back to me in the next hour

Why don't you try competing with 1 control arm and no shocks. I bet that will give you an advantage.

I just got an email from the club that is putting on the event. The park is open all weekend, except for each day the section that they are holding the competition in is closed, but otherwise the rest of the park is open. Here is the email

hello,
yes, the park is open all weekend. the only part that will be close to other wheelers is the area that the competition is in for that day. on one day the lower section will be close and on the other the a part of the upper section. also there will be booths open selling stuff. if you want to come up and wheel there are different places you can go. there is the park of course, marblehead and other trails all over the island. if you are curious check out www.drummundisland.com
there should be a map on the web site that might help ya out some. if you have any more questions feel free to e me
thanks

you try getting your shit fixed up from you last trail run in under 8 hours for another two days of wheeling of course not everything is going to get done. I have ran 1 year with out a rear shock on the drivers side with zero issuies. and that is including one previous wheeling trip.

plus the nylon 3 link flexes better
