grand rapids wheelin'

Has anybody ever wheeled down the powerlines or at the unused gravel pit on east beltline around 86th or 89th street...which ever it is. I would like to know who owns the gravel pit because it looks like an awesome place to wheel.

Powelines are not legal. This site does not promote illegal wheeling. I'm pretty sure a gravel pit is also. That being said, try approaching the owner of the pit and ask permission to wheel there. When he says no, go to twotrackers.org and join people that wheel as well as fight for the rights of fellow wheelers. Learn where and where not to ride, all the time getting to know other people that share your intrest in the GR area. We all have to learn sometime. I'm hoping this post will keep others from flaming you.

See you on the legal trails

Well freeek, I invite you point out where I jumped all over this fella. I put it out there in a manner that invited him to join the fold, learn the ropes and hopfully keep his question from getting him an e-whoopin.

You, on the other hand, are quick to mouth off. You know little, if anything, about what can and cannot be done legally in the area. Nobody needs to "see" where you are talking about to know it's a no no. ALL POWERLINES IN MICHIGAN ARE ILLEGAL. Private property can be wheeled with permission, but the chances a gravel pit will give you permission is slim to nill, but not impossible. Don't take this post as an attack on you, but as a simple reminder to help us all play responsibly. If you feel the need to discuss this further, please feel free to PM.
