Default 4x4 Th350 Non lockup Need help

Ok heres the story...... I bought a 1983 k10 pickup from my girlfriends dad. It had been sitting in his backyard for 3 years after the rearend went out. He had had the transmission rebuilt 5000 miles before parked (saw receipt). When I first fired up the truck the trans was 3 qts low ( leaking from pan) so I filled it up. I now have reverse and nothing else. It makes the engagement movement when put in reverse but not in any other gear feels like it is in neutral in D, 3, 2, and 1st. I have dropped the pan and replaced the filter. There was no cluch material in the pan. I pulled the vac line off the modulator on the back of the trans full vac is there and no signs of tranny fluid. Does anyone have any ideas to what the problem could be? I was leaning towards sticking valves in the valve body or a bad valve body all together but then again I have no idea. Any and all help is much appreciated.

It could have a stuck valve. it still could be low on fluid and could have forward clutch issues.. DON"T try and drive it if the forward gears are not engaging. It will burn the forward clutch out of it in no time flat.

Thanks for your response KillerB. Well I did try and drive it in the forward gears for a min or two :miff: I also let the truck run for 2 hours after filling up the trans so I don't think it is low anymore. I shifted through out the gears several times during the 2 hours. I also had someone shift though the gears when the pan was off it seamed to move the shift valve. So in your honest opinion should I find another valve body and swap it in or should i look for another trans or have this one rebuilt again?
